Conception of the Electric Penguin – Antarctica

There is a story behind this picture … I was with Ana, an Argentine beauty, sitting on a rock looking to this stunning panorama across Petermann Island and the Lemaire Channel to the mountains of continental Antarctica.
Meantime: occasional Penguins were wobbling past below in the well-etched penguin highways when one spotted Ana – in a pink fluorescent sweater (similar color to that in the sky; it was a calm fine day, so we had stripped down from the usual cold-weather-gear) and it stopped and headed our way, hopping onto the rocks, to then stop stare at her! For a minute or two.
Finally it curiosity quenched, it hopped back down and continue on it’s way.
Back on ship a guide later told us that penguins see in color and if they see a color they’re not encountered before – they check it out (not the blue skies and sea; nor the gray, black, brown rocks and wildlife; nor the white ice and snow or the usual red, navy, yellow jackets of people).
Our chance meeting on this voyage was also a romance; on larger scale of this picture, within the penguin chick’s eye, is pic of us together in Antarctica.
